Esperanza's Pickleball Courts Are Open. The Website Still Says "Coming Soon."

As of June 2026, Esperanza's own amenities page told visitors that pickleball was still in the works, framing it as a future perk with a line about the ball being in the community's court and pickleball coming soon. By September, the community's own event feed listed "Pickleball Open Play" as a running weekly activity, sitting right next to Hydro Fit and Water Walking and Food Truck on the Lawn. The amenities page reflects an earlier moment in the rollout, and the calendar has moved on since.

That gap matters if you already live here, because it means the amenities page you'd check to confirm what's open describes the community at a general level. The week-to-week schedule lives in the HOA's own social feed and event archive, and that is the quickest way to confirm what is running on a given day.

What's Actually Running This Fall

Esperanza's Lifestyle and Club Coordinator, Lorie Gill, was named Lifestyle Director of the Year at the 2026 Summit Awards, presented by the Greater San Antonio Builders Association. Her job is the reason the calendar keeps expanding rather than sitting still. In an early-summer snapshot from the HOA's events archive, the standing weekly lineup was modest: Pilates-style strength and conditioning on Wednesdays and a water-walking class in the lazy river on Thursdays.

By the community's own September rundown, that same weekly rhythm had widened into eleven separate offerings: Pickleball Open Play, Hydro Fit and Water Walking, Men's Workout Club and Run Club, Paws in the Park, Color and Play and Chalk It Up, Family Game Time, Kids' Connections Science Activity, Poolside Popsicles, Howdy Pearl Beverages at the pool, Food Truck on the Lawn, and playground meetups. That's not a marketing list. It's a working calendar that grew roughly fourfold between early summer and fall, and it's still being run by one full-time coordinator rather than published once and left alone.

Two Clubhouses, Two Rosters

Esperanza operates two separate amenity buildings, and which one you can walk into depends on where you live, not just how often you check the calendar.

The Club is the original, general-access building. Community materials describe it as an 11-acre facility with a lazy river, resort-style pool, splash pad, and a 24-hour fitness center, open to every Esperanza household regardless of age or section. This is where the weekly Pilates and water-walking classes run, and where Lorie Gill's programming lives.

The Hacienda, inside Regency at Esperanza, is a different building with a different membership. Toll Brothers opened it with a ribbon-cutting on March 15, 2025, describing a roughly 10,000-square-foot, $10 million clubhouse built for the 55-and-older Regency section only. Its amenities read differently from The Club's: a fitness studio, a bar and social kitchen, a wine garden, a bocce court, and a game lounge, alongside its own pool and pickleball courts. Regency's Toll Brothers announcement was explicit that this clubhouse and its year-round calendar of events are exclusive to Regency's 55+ homeowners, so a resident in one of Esperanza's other sections can't wander over and use it the way they can The Club.

The practical upshot is that "Esperanza has a clubhouse" is really two separate answers depending on which deed you're standing on. If your household isn't in Regency, The Club and its programming are your amenity system in full. If you are in Regency, you have both The Hacienda's members-only calendar and full access to everything The Club offers everyone else.

The Weekly Anchors, Confirmed

The two classes with fixed days and times, according to the HOA's own events archive, look like this:

Day Activity Location Cost
Wednesday Strength and Conditioning (Pilates-style) The Club $10, paid directly to the instructor
Thursday Hydro Fit Water Walking The Club's lazy river Included
Thursday Paws in the Park Rover Oaks Bark Parque Free

Everything added since then (Pickleball Open Play, the Men's Workout Club and Run Club, Family Game Time, and the rest) shows up on the community's monthly rundowns, and the HOA's published lists don't attach a fixed day to those items, so the event calendar is the place to confirm timing.

The Ground Everyone Shares

Outside the two clubhouses, Esperanza's shared outdoor spaces belong to every household in the community, Regency included. Roca Loca Lawn is the open-air gathering space, with limestone picnic tables and a bandstand used for live music, movie nights, and the food truck visits that show up on nearly every monthly calendar. Roca Loca Beach sits a short walk from The Club and holds regulation sand volleyball courts for adults plus a separate court sized for kids, framed by hand-set limestone bleachers. Roca Loca Forest is the nature-style playground built from repurposed materials rather than standard playground equipment. Rover Oaks Bark Parque is the four-acre dog park, split into sections for large and small dogs, with shaded seating and water stations, and it's where the weekly Paws in the Park meetup happens.

None of that requires a Regency address. The split only shows up once you're talking about the indoor clubhouse buildings themselves.

Why Wednesday Looks Different

One detail buried in the HOA's own documents is worth knowing if you're planning a pool day: the Esperanza pool season runs May through September, open daily from 10 a.m. to 8:30 p.m., with one standing exception. It closes on Wednesdays. That's also the day the Pilates-style strength class runs at The Club. Put those two facts together and Wednesday reads less like a random day off and more like the maintenance window the community built its land-based programming around, rather than losing the day entirely to pool upkeep.

Where to Check the Calendar

The HOA's event feed and social posts show what is running in a given month, and the amenities page gives the broader picture of what the community offers. For a resident deciding whether to grab a paddle this weekend, the September rundown lists Pickleball Open Play, and the event calendar is the place to confirm the day and time.

If you're weighing whether to stay in The Club's general amenities or make the move into Regency's 55+ section down the road, or you're simply curious how Esperanza's two amenity systems compare to what's available elsewhere in Boerne, Alexis Weigand Real Estate knows this community well enough to walk you through both sides of it.
